Summary – shared from the BPHC, Division of Violence Prevention

The Boston Public Health Commission, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office, are eager to hear young people’s perspectives on how to prevent violence in Boston. This is a complicated and important conversation, and it will be sustainably successful when we integrate youth voice into the process. This survey was created by young people, for young people. It does not track any identifying information and is for youth 24 years and younger.

In addition to the survey, we are holding focus groups/listening sessions for young people to speak their truths to how they understand violence and what they need to stop violence before it starts. Please contact Jess Alder (jalder@bphc.org), Ajay Singh (ajay.singh@boston.gov), or Koinonia Howard (khoward@bphc.org) to schedule a focus group with your young people.

The Mayor is expecting 250 young people to complete the survey.

It’s ten questions, should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
