The Wetlands Ordinance, sponsored by City Councilors Wu and O’Malley, will increase protection of local wetlands while promoting climate change adaptation in the city. This will include not only coastal but inland wetlands, such as the Roslindale Wetlands, Canterbury Brook, and flood zones like on Stella Rd. The Southwest Boston Climate Action coalition has participated in lobbying for this ordinance, to include more wetlands and urban wilds in Roslindale, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. President (and D4) Councilor Campbell was a key vote in support. A good turnout will send a positive message on this issue and all environmental and local neighborhood priorities. Joe Coppinger will be there too.
The location will be at the Hazlemere Road entrance of the Roslindale Wetlands. The closest address to the signing event is at 43 Hazlemere Road, Roslindale 02131
